The pronounciation of KAT-TUN sounds like “cartoon” (not cat-ton or katsun, etc). The name KAT-TUN is formed by taking the first letter of the members’ last name — Kamenashi Kazuya, Akanishi Jin, Taguchi Junnosuke, Tanaka Koki, Ueda Tatsuya and Nakamaru Yuichi. The hyphen, ‘-’, represents the fans. Akanishi Jin left the group to concentrate on solo activities in July 2010. KA then referred to the KA in KAmenashi henceforth.
