R-ONE KAT-TUN #31 – 20061101
Opening
Tat-chan: “Doumo, boku desu.” Yuichi: “*insert beatboxing* Doumo, boku desu.”
Started talking how it’s November already, and that means Koki’s birthday. Tat-chan pointed out that it’s been a continuous string of birthdays, Yuichi, himself, then Koki. Their birthdays are all about one month apart. Yuichi started talking about the old game machine that Koki gave him for this year’s birthday.
They went on to talk about how Koki gives people a lot interesting birthday presents, like how “someone” (ie. Jin) seems to have gotten a bicycle seat this year. Next year this person (ie. Jin) will be getting bicyle pedals, and after a number of years “this person” (ie. Jin) will have a whole bicycle.
Yuichi then started about how Tat-chan got his birthday present from him.
Yuichi: “Ueda-kun! are agemashita, tanjoubi presento.”
Tat-chan said yeah, he had a birthday party the other day, and Yuichi gave him some kind of slippers. After which, Yuichi added that he didn’t mention this the other day when he gave Tat-chan the slippers, but he had them too, same colour as well! He said that they’re bath slippers, very relaxing. So Tat-chan said he’ll go try them when he gets home.XP
Yuichi:”They’re good from relaxing your feet after boxing!”
Played Blue Tuesday, as it is supposed to be Koki’s favourite song on the album, so they’re playing it to celebrate his birthday.
Listener Research UeMaru Taiketsu!
The question they gave to listeners (female) was “what was the best present they could received from guys?”
Yuichi read out a two examples that listeners sent in. One example was ”Tegami” (ie. letter). They both thought it was a very good present. The second was “Teddy Bear” nuigurumi (ie.soft toy).
After the examples, that’s when the taiketsu starts. Meaning, based on the aggregated answers that were sent in by listeners, they now had a Best Five list:
Yubiwa (ring), Necklace, Nuigurumi (soft toy), Hanataba (flower bouquets), Tegami (letter).
From this list, they both had to guess which is the top rank. If both of them don’t get the top rank item correct, the one that was closest to it would win. The loser would have to do a batsu-game.
They discussed a bit about how a yubiwa seems to be a over-symbolic present. The question is not ‘best present you can receive from someone you like’, but ‘best present you can receive from a guy’, so they didn’t think it was going to be yubiwa.
Yuichi didn’t wait very long before he quickly asked for Tat-chan’s guess. Tat-chan was suspicious that Yuichi already knew the answer, that’s why he didn’t even give any time to think. It was understandable why Tat-chan was suspicious, because in the last 2 taiketsus, Tat-chan lost them both. So he really didn’t want to lose again, and thinks Yuichi looks too confident to not know the answer already. Yuichi defended himself and said he really didn’t know.
Tat-chan’s guess was necklace. Yuichi said Tegami and Tat-chan told him that was unlikely.
*scroll down for answer*
Answer: 5th place – Hanataba. 4th place- Tegami. 3rd place – Nuigurumi. 2nd place – Yubiwa. 1st place – Necklace.
So Tat-chan finally won. :)
Yuichi couldn’t believe that Tegami ranked even lower than Nuigurumi.
Anyway,Yuichi then pretended not to remember there was a batsu-game and tried to move on with the show, but Tat-chan called him on it.
The batsu-game was really to mention 5 things your opponent (ie Yuichi has to talk about Tat-chan) is better than you at. Yuichi said 5 things quite quickly, and they all basically range in the area of boxing and strong arm muscle, with the exception of the last point which was song-writing. His list was much faster than when Ueda had to do a similar one the last taiketsu where he had to mention 5 things that Yuichi was good at. XD
Ending
Talked about Bokura machi de, and how it would be X’mas. They discuss about the coupling songs, and how they likely would go for something to match the X’mas season.
Yuichi did a weird sound then asked, “What do you hear?”
Tat-chan: “???”
Yuichi: “it’s a guitar.”
Tat-chan laughs.
Yuichi: “Oi I’ve been practicing!!”
